About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer with deep expertise in SQL and Google Cloud Platform (GCP)—especially GA4 and BigQuery. 

We’re looking for a motivated data professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is excited about building and improving data solutions. In this role, you’ll be responsible for developing and maintaining our data infrastructure, ensuring it runs smoothly, scales effectively, and delivers accurate insights to support smarter decision-making.

This position starts as a contract role with a strong possibility of converting to full-time.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain scalable data pipelines within the GCP environment using BigQuery.
  • Design and optimize data models for analytics and business intelligence, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
  • Craft and execute complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
  • Integrate diverse data sources, including GA4, into BigQuery to enable comprehensive analysis.
  • Partner with data analysts and business stakeholders to translate data requirements into technical solutions.
  • Ensure data accuracy and consistency through rigorous testing and validation procedures.
  • Enhance the performance and scalability of data pipelines and SQL queries.
  • Maintain and improve technical documentation for data pipelines and processes.

Experience

  • 6+ years of experience in Data Engineering or a related field.
  • 4+ years of hands-on expertise in SQL, including complex queries, stored procedures, and functions.
  • 2+ years of working with BigQuery in GCP.
  • 2+ years of experience with the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and its services.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling principles and data warehousing best practices.
  • Proven ability to optimize large-scale data pipelines for performance and scalability.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration capabilities.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with GA4 data integration.
  • Knowledge of additional GCP services (e.g., Dataflow, Cloud Storage).
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau).
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python).
